DrawCoach helps you trace pictures and practice drawing. This page explains what stays on your phone and what is sent to a service when you use online features.

Who is responsible

DrawCoach is operated by Simon Day, who is responsible for the personal information processed for the app. For privacy requests or questions, email simondaydev@gmail.com.

Your camera, photos and drawings

The live camera view and AR tracking are processed on your device. We do not stream your tracing session to our servers. DrawCoach asks for camera access when it needs to show your page, and you choose which photos to import through the system photo picker.

Your projects, saved drawings, preferences, practice progress and local usage counters are stored on your device. DrawCoach does not provide an account-based cloud sketchbook. Copies may be included in device backups controlled by your Apple settings. Photos you export or share are handled by the destination you choose.

When you use an online image feature

Photo-to-outline conversion sends the selected image to our service, hosted by Cloudflare, and to fal.ai for image processing. Background removal uses the same providers. The “describe” feature sends the text you enter to generate an outline. These services receive the content needed to carry out your request; they do not receive your whole photo library.

Before the first use of each AI feature, DrawCoach asks your permission to send selected photos or written descriptions to these providers. You can withdraw either permission in My studio → AI permissions. Withdrawing permission stops future requests of that type until you agree again; it does not delete information already processed. Do not upload confidential documents or pictures of someone else unless you have permission.

Our app does not create a separate server-side gallery of your uploads. fal.ai may retain request inputs, outputs and generated files under its service settings and retention practices. Deleting a drawing in DrawCoach removes the local project; it does not by itself delete provider-held copies. See fal.ai’s privacy policy and data retention information.

Protecting AI access

Apple App Attest helps verify that AI requests come from a genuine DrawCoach installation. Our Cloudflare service stores the attested public key, its request counter and the RevenueCat app user identifier it is linked to. The private key stays on your device. The service checks your subscription status with RevenueCat and stores sample allowances, daily and monthly usage, and cost reservations to prevent misuse and control service costs.

Cloudflare receives your IP address to deliver requests. Our application-level burst limits store a daily hash of that address, rather than the address itself. The verification and allowance records do not contain your photos or prompt text. You can contact us for help locating and deleting eligible service records.

Purchases

Apple handles payment. We do not receive your card details. RevenueCat helps validate purchases, restore subscriptions and unlock Pro. It processes an app-generated user identifier, purchase history, subscription status, and app and store information. We also use its subscription reports to understand sales. DrawCoach does not ask you to create an account or send a name or email address to RevenueCat as part of a purchase.

See Apple’s privacy policy and RevenueCat’s privacy information.

Support and service logs

If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and resolve your issue. Our hosting and image providers process technical request and error information to run and secure the service. We do not include advertising SDKs or track you across other apps for advertising.

Why we use this information

Where UK or European data protection law applies, we process the information needed to provide the features and subscriptions you request as part of delivering our service. We rely on legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention, support and understanding subscription sales, while considering your rights. We may also keep information to meet legal obligations. Where a use requires consent, you can withdraw it; this does not affect processing that already took place lawfully.

How long information is kept

Local projects stay until you delete them or remove the app, subject to any device backups. Verification challenges expire after five minutes and are cleaned up periodically. Short-lived burst-limit records are cleaned up periodically. Current daily and monthly allowance totals roll over with their UTC periods. Attested-key and lifetime sample records are retained to recognize authorized installations and prevent repeated free-sample abuse; contact us to request deletion, subject to necessary security and record-keeping exceptions. Purchase records are kept as needed to administer subscriptions, handle restores and disputes, and meet record-keeping obligations. Support messages are kept as needed to resolve the request and related follow-ups. Provider-held content and technical logs follow the relevant provider’s retention practices; contact us if you need help requesting deletion.

Providers and international processing

We share information with the providers described above to operate DrawCoach, and when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect people and the service. We do not sell your personal information. Providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, international processing must use an appropriate legal transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards. You can ask us for more information about the safeguards that apply.

Your choices and rights

You can change camera access in iOS Settings, delete local projects in the app, and change AI permissions in My studio, and stop using online image features at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, restrict its use, or object to processing. Contact us to make a request. We may need enough information to locate your records and verify the request. Some purchase records may need to be retained for legal reasons.

You can complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children

A parent or guardian should supervise children using DrawCoach, especially online image features and purchases. Please do not include a child’s name, contact details or other private information in prompts or uploads. If you believe a child has supplied personal information that should be removed, contact us so we can investigate.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date above. We will provide additional notice or ask for consent when the law requires it.
